My Top 6 Ways To Make Money Online

There are countless ways to make money online, but I am going to share my top 6 ways to make money online. I’m focusing on these six because they have given me the best and consistent results.  Having multiple sources of income is a necessary on today’s economy.  None of the income sources I discuss are that difficult, but some do require time a effort.

1. Sell Using Online Selling Platforms

All of the online selling platforms have rules you will need to understand and follow to prevent account suspension. Take time to learn about the platform before using it to sell your items. Read the Terms & Conditions so you know what you need to do to stay within the required guidelines. I don’t currently sell on eBay or Etsy, but they are still worth mentioning. I did very well on both sites.

I made my first dollar online selling items on eBay.com. I started out by selling items I no longer wanted to keep, but were in good to excellent condition. It was fun, but there is a lot to know and understand about selling on eBay. eBay has a lot of rules and prohibited items so make sure you know what you are doing. The fees have driven a lot of sellers away, so make sure you review the listing fees, final values and PayPal fees. They can eat up your profits real quick.

The second selling platform I used was Etsy.com. It is very similar to eBay, but it is more for the creative types. The rules are less stringent than eBay and the fees are much more reasonable.

These last three involve more local selling, but they are worth mentioning. Be careful selling locally. Meet in public places when completing a transaction. Only accept cash and make sure you know how to verify the cash is authentic. Checkout safety tips for selling locally.

Craigslist is another site I did very well on and I still use it periodically.

 

Local Facebook Online Yard Sales or Selling Groups are good places to list items for sale. If you check, there are probably numerous local Facebook groups that allow you to list items you want to sell. I’ve sold quite a few items on the groups I joined. There are no fees, so you keep all of your profit.

I currently use an app called Letgo. You can download the app for free on an Android or Apple device. It is easy to join and setup your listings. There are no fees, so you keep all of your profit.

2. Monetize Your Videos

If you are really serious about making money online, you will eventually need to consider videos. You can monetize your videos and make money from the ad revenue. It took me a while to make money doing this, but now that I have, I will continue to focus on making videos on a regular basis.

Many people are intimidated by the thought of making videos because they are not thinking about the alternatives. A lot of my videos are screen recordings. I have several of me on camera too, but the screen recordings are my favorite because I can record PowerPoint presentations, my website or other sites. Screen recording videos are ideal for tutorials.  There are video creation software packages available if you want to have multiple options.

YouTube is a the most popular, but there are other platforms like YouTube to consider.

3. Monetize Your Blog

This is a huge challenge for people because maintaining a blog is a lot of work, but it is a very good way to make money online. I avoided monetizing my blog beyond affiliate products for the first two and half years. I ran into road blocks with Google Adsense. Eventually, I found out about Media.net. Once I was approved, I easily installed the ad code.
You want to be careful and avoid having too many ads. They can clutter your website and slow the load speed down. I ended up installing a plug-in called Ad Inserter. It really helped with the visibility and page load speed.

4. Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is my favorite of my top 5 ways to make money online. The opportunities are limitless. I have posted a few articles about Affiliate Marketing on my blog. Simply put, affiliate marketing is promoting other people’s products for a commission. There are thousands of companies that offer affiliate marketing programs. There are also opportunities to join affiliate marketing networks.

5. Referral Agent (Sell Services For Other People)

This is another type of affiliate marketing but instead of promoting other people’s products, you promote their services. Make sure the services you are promoting are offered by ethical, qualified and credible people. Read the reviews from their customers so you can see what people are saying about their service.

6. Sell eBooks and Digital Products

This is another great income source. You can write your own eBooks, promote other people’s eBooks or purchase PLR products (Private Label Rights) and resell them as your own. There are free PLR products available, but they are usually older so you will need to be prepared to update them with the most current information.  There are also PLR membership sites that you can join for a very reasonable price.

 

 

Ways To Make A Little Extra Money In Your Spare Time

In my spare time I fiddle with a few survey sites and Qmee searches (yes, you can get paid for some of your searches). You won’t make much with these sites but they are very easy to earn extra money. The best survey sites have reasonable cash out thresholds and Qmee has no threshold. They both offer referral links so when someone joins through your referral link, you can get a small commission as long as they are active on the site.

As I mentioned, there are numerous ways to make money online. Ideally, you want to have multiple income sources. All of the ways to make money online that I discussed can be started for little or no investment. If you already have a job, they can be done in your spare time. You can start out with one or two ways and build from there.
