Affiliate Programs & Networks are free to join, but some are a little tough to get accepted into, especially for beginners. Don’t let that stop you though. Everyone needs to start somewhere. It can sting a little when you are denied, but keep your head up and move on to the next one. If you are denied, pickup the phone, call the affiliate manager and explain why you want to join their network.

Affiliate Marketing is a great business to get into if you want unlimited earning potential along with the ability to work at home……or on the beach. Companies will pay you a commission to send traffic to their products and services.

The commissions vary from company to company but traffic volume, in demand products and your credibility is key. Always keep that in mind. Credibility and ethical marketing strategies are important characteristics that not all Affiliate Marketers have. It’s a decision. If your want longevity, make the decision to be one of the good guys.

You can choose from thousands of products to promote. Choose the niches you are interested in and find the products people in those niche’s are searching to purchase. If a niche you are interested in doesn’t have a lot of products to offer, consider choosing another niche’ in its place.

I keep hearing the only way to be successful at Affiliate Marketing is to have an email list. That may be true, but it takes time, patience and a lot of credibility to get people to subscribe. Getting someone to share their email address can be challenging. You also need to make sure you have the required polices to be in FTC compliance.

I signed up for another Affiliate Marketer’s newsletter and found his information to be helpful, however I was none too happy to open my email account and find I had received over 300 emails from him overnight. He claims his auto-responder had a glitch and resent the emails he had already sent. I consider that to be a con in regards to using auto-responders and a good way to lose subscribers. I immediately unsubscribed to his newsletter. I included this so you are aware of the issues that can arise and reek havoc. Consider the pros and cons with using email marketing. Technology can be a real headache sometimes and compliance is a must do.

Applying for Affiliate Programs & Networks

When applying for Affiliate Programs & Networks, read the Terms & Conditions carefully before submitting your application. Understanding their terms can make the difference between getting accepted and denied, especially if their acceptable marketing strategies don’t match the ones you listed in the application. Just because one network allows a particular marketing strategy doesn’t mean they all do.

Most of the CPA Networks require an application submission and a phone interview, but don’t worry. The application is pretty straight forward. The interviews are usually fairly short; they want to confirm your information and marketing strategies.
