Beware of Facebook Business Opportunity Groups
I felt the need to write this post about why you should beware of Facebook business opportunity groups and work at home groups. Over the passed few years, I have joined numerous ‘work at home’ and ‘business opportunities’ Facebook groups and it took me 3 years to find an opportunity that determined to be legitimate. Day after day, I have found is scam after scam. People post their so called ‘legitimate’ opportunities but after researching their companies, all I find are articles and reviews warning people to steer clear.
I want to differentiate between the work at home or business opportunity groups and FB job sites. The FB job sites post local jobs, so I am in no way complaining about them or do I feel they are not legitimate. Like all opportunities, you still need to do your research.

I still visit some of the groups, but now I point out the scams and/or promote my legitimate opportunities.
When I point out a scam, sometimes it makes the poster mad and some of them have blocked me. If they are going to promote crap, then someone needs to step up and call them out on it. Some people thank me for letting them know they are promoting a scam.

The majority of Facebook group members promote endless schemes and scams; get paid to complete online tasks job scams, MLM schemes, Forced Matrix schemes, Project Payday, ZNZ, credit card schemes, MCA, and so many other schemes. it would take me all day and probably more to list. If you are interested in blogging about scams, you will find endless supply of material on these Facebook groups.
I have determined that Facebook is not the place to look for legitimate opportunities as so many believe. What happened to ethics? Does it not exist anymore? Is society so hell-bent on making a buck, it no longer cares about promoting schemes and scams?

I’m seeing more of postings requiring a PM or private message in order receive information for some the opportunities. One of the reasons I was given was that posting a link is a violation of their company’s terms and conditions. That could be true, but another reason could be that Facebook prohibits the link because it was reported previously as a suspected scam or unsafe website.
So far the responses to my requests for information about an opportunity have been nothing more than MLM ponzi schemes, scams and activities that violate the social media site Terms & Conditions. This is very unfortunate, because the actual legitimate opportunities are getting lost in the sea of crap. This is causing members to leave groups as well as giving the groups a bad reputation.

But even with Affiliate Marketing, research is required because if you are promoting a product, you want to make sure that product is legitimate and authentic and the seller or company is reputable.
