Get Paid To Read The News SCAM and What You need to Know

Get paid to read the news scam is hitting the Internet and classified sites in the ‘jobs’ sections. You will also find people promoting it on social media sites like Facebook, Daily Motion and YouTube. This video provides a demonstration of how it works. The fact that it is so ridiculously simple it a good indication it can’t be anything other than a scam. The bad thing is….people are falling for it and waiting for their payout that will never come. What they will get is an empty bank account.

All of these scam sites look very similar so one has to wonder if it is the same scammer or if it is a co-op of scammers. Who knows, the bottom line is….these are scam sites. Since writing this post, I have added several and they just keep popping up.

How the Get Paid To Read The News SCAM Works

The procedure is very simple, you just need your email and name, oh and they want your PayPal or Payza account number. If you are familiar with Paypal, then you know your email address is used for payment, not your account number. Once they have your actual PayPal account number, they have what they need to clean your bank account out and that is one way they are making their money. One of my YouTube subscribers share their experience and thankfully realized it was a scam before proceeding.

I recently learned that when you cash out, the site asks for your PayPal or Payza password. This is one way they are stealing from people or collecting emails to sell or SPAM more low quality products or more scams. Sadly, some fall for it.

All you have to do is read a news article which is actually only one or two sentences, click confirm, complete simple math problem and you’ll be paid 5-9 bucks for each one you read. Whoever come up with this scam obviously knows how naive people can be. They even provide you with a referral link to invite more people. The payout threshold is around $2300.00, meaning you have to reach $2300.00 in order to request your payment, which by the way will never be paid.

You can send as many emails as you want, but they will not respond and if they do, it will be a bunch of BS.

When I first started researching this scam I found six sites, but I have added several more so obviously they are making money screwing people over. I have found most of them on craigslist in the ‘job’ section and some were brought to my attention by other people. Thank you to those of you who have contacted me.

Pick any city in the US, search ‘read the news’ and you will likely find some. When you do, please click on the ‘Prohibited’ button at the top of the ad so we can flag them. Word of caution when flagging scam ads; sometimes the craigslist police get crazy and block IP addresses if they think you are flagging too much. When they blocked my email address, I sent them an email explaining what I was doing and why. They removed my IP address from the block list.

I contacted 19 people who are promoting these scams. Four of them responded, claiming it was not a scam and they are waiting for their first payment. They didn’t perform any research or they would have found articles that determined this is a scam.

There are a lot of internet jobs, but you have to be extremely careful to avoid getting scammed. Easy money is often associated with scams.
