Hello Random Acts of Kindness ROCK!!

Hello!  How many random people do you say hello to throughout the day?  I make a point to say hello to people when I am out in public.  Some reply, some don’t.  I don’t focus on the people who don’t reply, although I do wonder how their day is going.

Acknowledging people is something I haven’t always been good at, but since I started focusing on it, saying hello to a stranger just seems natural at this point.  It tends to make people smile.  Saying hello to someone is a simple way of acknowledging them.  People like being acknowledged.

I believe in random acts of kindness.  One day while I was at the store, I saw an elderly woman walking around with a confused look on her face.  I stopped and asked her if she needed help with something.  She couldn’t find the laundry detergent.  I could have ignored her, but I chose to see if I could help her out.  It took all of ten minutes to help this woman find the laundry detergent, vinegar, and help her to the checkout.  I offered to help her load her groceries, but she felt she could take it from there.  She was very appreciative and helping her made me feel great.

You never know how a random act of kindness will impact someone.  It may turn someone’s day around.  It doesn’t need to be anything big or time consuming.  Simply opening a door for someone is a kind act.  Helping out a neighbor is kind.  Letting someone pull out in traffic is kind.  Get the idea?

We’re all busy and caught up in our own little world’s, but we need to remember to be kind to others.  We’re part of the big picture and how we treat other people matters.  Kindness is positive energy and it does have a ripple effect.

I’m teaching my son the importance of random acts of kindness so he will be one of the good guys when he becomes an adult!  If you’re a parent, I hope you are doing the same!

Please remember to say, “Hello” to someone next time you are out and about.

Thanks for reading my blog!!  I wish you all the best!!
