Misleading Marketing Strategies

Misleading Marketing Strategies Can Cost You

Have you ever researched a product to make sure it is not a scam before purchasing or promoting it?  Any experienced Internet or Affiliate Marketer will advise you to do just that.  So, you find videos and posts claiming the product you are researching is a scam only to determine they are actually promoting that same product.  It can be frustrating!  Falling for misleading marketing strategies is a big reason people get ripped off.

The word ‘scam’ is a highly searched term and marketers know this.   At some point it was suggested in order to get people interested enough to click on a link, include the word ‘scam’ even though it is being marketed as a recommended product within the video, article or post.

You might see titles such as;

“Scam Alert, Do Not Buy Product X Until….”

“Is product X a Scam?” and so on.

Unfortunately, these types of misleading marketing strategies are still frequently used by marketers who do not seem to care about misleading the general public. It’s all about making a buck for them.

Claiming a product is a scam puts that product in a bad light.  Many affiliates are specifically stating in their terms and conditions that marketing their product as a scam is in violation of their terms and your account will be terminated.  Calling a product a scam when it isn’t, is a good way to get yourself into some legal trouble too.

People Buy From Those They Trust

If you’re a beginner or newbie to Internet and Affiliate Marketing, find experienced, ethical people to learn from.  Stay away from people to might steer you in the wrong direction.  Start with ethical behavior and habits, set your standards high and over time you will become successful.  Be patient.

Avoid misleading, untrue statements just to get someone to click on a link.  Build your reputation by offering good information and tips as well as reputable products.

It took me a while to find good people to associate with, but I found a few and you will too.

Make money online scams are every where, so being cautious and follow your gut feeling.  If someone promises over night riches, move on to the next opportunity.

You should also be very weary of fake earnings reports that people use to convince you that you can make a lot of money.  That is becoming a common black hat marketing strategy.
