Social Media Behavior and YouTube Video Comments

I spend a lot of time on social media sites and I have say that some of the comments people make are appalling, especially on YouTube.  If you don’t like a video then offer constructive criticism and explain why you don’t the video.  Cruel, insensitive comments do nothing except show other viewers what a rude person you are.

YouTube Videos

Doing a video can be intimidating for most people, but if they are taking a shot at it, then they deserve some credit.  There is a lot of great information on social media sites.  Some people just goof around while others strive to offer valuable content.  It’s okay to disagree about something, but be mature about it.

If you upload videos to YouTube and receive rude negative comments, you have to a choice to either respond to the comment or just ignore it.  I choose to ignore them because they don’t deserve any kind of attention, especially if the comment is not constructive.  Many of the negative comments I see are left by people who don’t upload videos themselves, which makes them look even worse.  It kinds of like, “Don’t judge me until you walk in my shoes.”

 

Social Media Sites

Facebook is another social media site where I see rude comments.  I don’t see them on my own page, but when I view other pages, it can be pretty disgusting at times.

Don’t let the negative, toxic people discourage you.  It’s only their opinion and they aren’t worth your time to begin with.

So in a nutshell, have some empathy and respect for other people’s feelings.  Spread kindness, not hate!
