Tips for Buying Online

buying online

Below are tips for buying online from Amazon or other selling platforms similar to Amazon such as Etsy, eBay, eBid, uBid or Webstore.

Seller’s have to follow the site’s Terms & Conditions and policies. If they don’t, they can be suspended. If they offer poor customer service and receive a certain amount of negative feedback or have too many buyer disputes within a specific time frame, again, they can be suspended.

Tips:

1. Read the seller’s review before purchasing from them.

Although Amazon is very strict with their sellers, some fall the cracks before they are suspended. The Amazon reviews cannot be manipulated like other sites. The sellers cannot pick and chose what comments they want posted.

2. Follow your gut feeling.

If you are not sure about a seller, find another seller with high ratings.

3. Beware of counterfeit goods.

The counterfeit goods industry is huge. Do your research. If you find an item that usually sells for much a higher price, the red flags should be flying.

4. Read the Seller’s Terms & Conditions.

Before purchasing, read the seller’s Terms & Conditions. Make sure they accept returns if you are not happy with the product.

5. Become an educated consumer.

There are a lot of unethical people out there. The more you know, the less likely you are to fall victim to fraud or get ripped off.

6. Leave honest and fair feedback.

Seller’s love to receive feedback. I encourage you to be honest and fair when rating a seller. One of the most frustrating things for seller’s is shipping. They can do everything right but when it leaves their site, they are at the mercy of the shipping company.

You’ve probably seen the videos of carriers tossing or throwing packages. It’s ridiculous, but it does happen and that should not be the seller’s fault.

If you are looking for good prices on products, Amazon is a great place to shop. I have shopped there a number of times and my experiences have always been positive. Amazon is my first choice.
