10 Ways To Make Money From Home

There are more than 10 ways to make money from home, but I want to discuss 10 ethical ways to make to money at home. Like many, I have a strong dislike for promoting scams and I will not partner or associate with anyone who does.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who don’t have a problem promoting scams and ‘get rich schemes’. I’m glad you are here and I hope you choose an ethical option and think for the long-term. Building a good reputation is a necessary component to long-term success.

One of the great things about the Internet is if you don’t know how to do something, there are tutorials and websites that offer information and how to’s. The ten techniques I discuss in this post are not difficult, but you do what to understand them so you can choose the best one(s) for you.

Below you will find ten money making techniques that can be sold online and some offline too. Best of luck to you, I hope this information is helpful.

1. Create a Product and Sell It

This is a great opportunity to make money from home for creative people. It doesn’t really matter what the product is as long as there is a demand for it. It can be as simple as designing a t-shirt or more complex like writing an eBook.

There are several online selling platforms so you can decide which one is best for your product. Google related keywords like ‘sell online’, ‘places to sell online’, etc and you will see several options.

Examples:
eBay
Amazon
Etsy

2. Blogging Website

Blogging 10 Ways To Make Money From Home

This is one of my favorites. Blogging is a great way to share information about your favorite topics. If you are a parent, you can write about your parenting skills. If you like fishing, you can write articles about catching fishing. Get the idea? The niches, opportunities and subjects are limitless.

A basic definition of a niche’: product or subject categories, for example golfing, fishing, weight loss, fitness, video games, guitar, dogs, cats, etc. There are also sub-niches like fishing for bass, improving your golf swing, acoustic guitars, German Shepherd dogs, etc. Google ‘list of niches’ , ‘most popular niches’ , ‘unusual niches’, etc.

Once you decide on your niche’, build or have someone build you a website. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy or expensive. WordPress is one of the favorites among bloggers. Don’t be intimidated by this. Everyone has to start somewhere. If you don’t possess a skill, you can always outsource the task to someone who does have the ability.

When I decided to start blogging, I knew nothing about WordPress. I learned by watching YouTube tutorials about how to build a website. If you can use Microsoft Word, you can easily learn WordPress. You can also take paid courses that go more in depth on sites like Udemy.

You can purchase a domain or use the free options. The free options involve sub-domains, for example yourname.wordpress.com or yoursite.weebly.com. If you purchase a domain it will not have a sub-domain. My domain name is tipsfromlori.com. I use LifeDomains.net. Don’t pay more than $10.00 for a domain.

Once your site is launched, you can start collecting emails, adding advertisements and affiliate products. I will discuss affiliate marketing further down in this article.

3. Vlogging

This is similar to blogging but instead of just writing, you use videos to share your information. Thousands of people vlog and post their videos on YouTube and other video sharing sites like Daily Motion and Vimeo. Google ‘video sharing sites’ to get a list of the best ones. Some are free while others charge a membership fee.

You can use a video camera, phone camera or a webcam. YouTube has some awesome free tutorials on how to get started. Again, don’t be intimidated. We all had to start at the beginning and learn just like you.

You want to learn ways to drive traffic to your videos. Understanding keywords and search engine optimization (SEO) is are crucial. These are tasks you can outsource to those with the necessary skills if you don’t feel comfortable.

4. Online Tutor

If you enjoy teaching, being an online tutor is a wonderful way to reach your potential students. Teaching online will require a camera with video capabilities. You can also use a screen shot software to produce your tutorials. I use screencast-o-matic, which has a free and paid subscription. The free version is great for short videos no longer than 15 minutes.

Google ‘online tutoring jobs’ to get an idea of what sites hire tutors.

5. Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing involves promoting products produced and/or sold by someone else and/or a company. You have no inventory to deal with nor do you need to ship any products. You receive a unique affiliate link and when someone purchases via your link, you receive a commission.

Thousands of companies offer free affiliate programs you can sign up for to promote their products or services. Some offer automatic approval and others require you to complete an application and after review they will decide to approve or deny your membership.

Google ‘affiliate programs’ or if you want to be more niche specific, Google ‘affiliate programs acoustic guitars’ or ‘affiliate programs golfing’. These are just a few examples.

6. Freelancing

Remember when I mentioned outsourcing in the blogging section? Freelancers are abundant with varying prices. Freelancers possess skills such as article writing, website development, SEO, presentations, etc.

You can join sites like Freelancer, com, oDesk.com, or eLance.com, etc. Google ‘freelancing sites’ and you will find many opportunities to sell your skills.

7. Sell A Service

This can be similar to freelancing, but it can also involve other services like handy man projects, promotional videos for small businesses, bookkeeping, or life coaching. Again, the opportunities are endless with this one too. Think about the skills you already possess and see if there is a market. If other people are offering the same or similar services, then there is a market.

8. Build Websites

This is another one of my favorite ways to make money online. Learning how to build websites isn’t as difficult as it used to be. You know longer need to know coding or HTML, but it is helpful. Stay within your skill level or partner with other developers. Blogging websites are easy to build, but an eCommerce site involves much more.

9. Sell PLR Products with Master Resale Rights

PLR or Private Label Rights are products like eBooks, videos or audios that are produced by someone else and either given away for free or sold with a user license. Depending on the licensing terms, you can edit the content and add your writing style. The license will tell you what you can and/or can’t to with the product. Google ‘free plr products’, plr membership site’, etc.

Add the PLR products to your site for a reasonable price and keep most of the profit. If you use PayPal or another means of accepting payment, they will take a small percentage of selling price.

10. Write and Sell Your Original Articles

If you enjoy writing and do it well, this might be a great way to earn money. People who either don’t like to write or don’t have the time to create their own content outsource their writing to people who will do the writing for them.  Google ‘sell articles’, ‘article submissions’ to get an idea of the websites you can sell your original content to make money.

Conclusion

So, there you have ten ethical online money making ways to earn a living from home. Some you can do offline too. Start with a plan and be consistent in your daily actions. Learn new skills or find reputable freelancers to complete the tasks for you.

Your budget is up to you. The more you can do yourself the better, but it requires more of your time. You will need to decide which is more cost effective.
