Wealthy Affiliate Review – Is Wealthy Affiliate Legit?
This is my Wealthy Affiliate review and to answer the question; Is Wealthy Affiliate legit? Yes, it is.
Before I go any further, let me say that when researching ways to make money online you will find websites that call a legitimate opportunity a scam, while others call a scam a legitimate opportunity. I recently came across a website that called Wealthy Affiliate a scam while the guy was promoting two opportunities that other people were calling scams. Regardless, I would not dish out $2,000-$3,000 for his so called opportunities. It can be very confusing when you are researching an opportunity. I hope this article will clarify any confusion about whether Wealthy Affiliate is a legitimate opportunity to learn affiliate marketing.
I’ve been a member of Wealthy Affiliate for a few years. I have much more knowledge and experience now than when I first joined. I feel very comfortable giving tips and information to people who are interested in Internet Marketing, Affiliate Marketing and blogging. I don’t credit Wealthy Affiliate for that because my educational resources went beyond Wealthy Affiliate, but Wealthy Affiliate was a good starting point for me.
Unlike many other Wealthy Affiliate members, I will not be comparing Wealthy Affiliate to another opportunity. That is all too common and does not make Wealthy Affiliate any more credible or legitimate than it already is. In fact, I am finding that those comparisons have become so common, people no longer see them as credible reviews.
What is Wealthy Affiliate?
Wealthy Affiliate is training and online community platform. It was founded in 2005 and has approximately 800.000 members in 195 countries. I doubt that all of those members are active but it is still an impressive number. Wealthy Affiliate is now going into its twelfth year in business. It is perfect? No, but it is established and has a fairly good reputation.
I’m not going to populate this post with images of payment proof, the starter vs premium membership table or even the Wealthy Affiliate comparison table to other opportunities like many other members are doing. Why? Because I am providing you with a video of my review of Wealthy that will show you that I have made money with Wealthy Affiliate and in that same video, you will see the Wealthy Affiliate starter vs premium membership table.
Wealthy Affiliate offers two membership levels; Starter and Premium. The Starter membership is a basic introduction to Wealthy Affiliate. When I say I basic, I mean basic. It really doesn’t offer much after the first 7 days, except for the Phase 1 training and the affiliate program. That’s why it is free. As Starter member, you will have access to some of the Premium membership benefits for the first 7 days of your membership.
As I mentioned previously, I have been with Wealthy Affiliate for a few years……but as a starter member. I decided to upgrade to the Premium membership because I see the value it offers its members on an ongoing basis. I didn’t upgrade initially because I was guilty of information overload and plain old stubbornness. I researched several other training platforms and utilized Google and YouTube for information which was very time consuming because the information was scattered. There is nothing wrong with the route I took, but it did take me a lot longer to start earning money online and I would not recommend that route to beginners.
If I had to do it all over again, I would join Wealthy Affiliate as a premium member and take full advantage of all of the training modules, member chat rooms, expert help and the additional living training. The information they provide stays current. I think it would have been beneficial to have access to the online community much earlier in my career as an Affiliate Marketer. Live and learn.

How to make money with Wealthy Affiliate
Wealthy Affiliate members usually have their own business and products or services, but that does not apply to all of the members. Many are Internet Marketers, bloggers, Affiliate Marketers, entrepreneurs, etc. Many members are new to Internet Marketing or Affiliate Marketing world and many are experienced. Many of the members already have an established income before joining Wealthy Affiliate. Regardless, it is possible to make a very comfortable living with the Wealthy Affiliate affiliate program.
Wealthy Affiliate offers an affiliate program that enables its members to promote Wealthy Affiliate memberships in exchange for a commission. The starter members receive approximately 25% commissions, while the premium members receive approximately 50% commissions when a member either upgrades to or joins as a premium member. It can be a great recurring income.
What I don’t like about Wealthy Affiliate
There is a lot to like about Wealthy Affiliate but one thing that I really disagree with is how other members are promoting Wealthy Affiliate. Some of the Wealthy Affiliate training is about comparing a different opportunity with Wealthy Affiliate. In doing so, the Wealthy Affiliate members are hyping up Wealth Affiliate as a free membership. They don’t tell you the starter membership is a basic introduction, but to really benefit from Wealthy Affiliate, the premium membership is the way to go. To me, they are misleading people.
Like I said before, the starter membership is basic and really doesn’t offer anything helpful after the first 7 days. Yes, you still have some benefits, but those same benefits are also offered elsewhere. I wrote an article about this called The Truth About Wealthy Affiliate Free Membership.
If you are promoting Wealthy Affiliate as a starter member, there is no way to interact or support the people you invite unless you do it outside of Wealthy Affiliate. Several people have joined through my affiliate link; most are inactive, and a few have upgraded to premium. As a premium member, I can provide ongoing support to the members I invite, which is very important to the teacher in me.

Communicate and Interact with people worldwide
One of the things I really enjoy is interacting with people in other countries and Wealthy Affiliate provides a good platform to do just that. It’s a great way to broaden your horizons and learn about other cultures and businesses.
Although Wealthy Affiliate is available worldwide, due to high occurrence of spam and fraud the countries list below are not eligible for the Free Starter Membership or the $19.00 first month discount:
Bangladesh
Egypt
India
Kenya
Nigeria
Pakistan
Philippines
Vietnam
Is Wealthy Affiliate worth it?
So, is Wealthy Affiliate worth it? In my opinion, Wealthy Affiliate is worth it. The premium membership first month discount is only $19 and $49 per month after. Their annual membership is even better if you decide to stay with it. It is $359 which is an even bigger discount (equates to $29.92/month).
Even if you decide to pay the monthly membership fee, the recurring commissions from three (two members’ recurring commission would cover $47 of the $49 monthly membership fee) of the premium members you invited will pay for your monthly membership fee. If you paid the annual membership fee, you would only need two invited premium members’ monthly commission to recoup the cost of your membership . That is very doable.
Conclusion
I hope you do not find this article to be the typical Wealthy Affiliate review, but I hope it has been helpful. If you are serious about making money outside of a regular job, and want to leverage the online opportunities available, Wealthy Affiliate can be an awesome gateway to success. Wealthy Affiliate is a community of people who love to share information and experience.
Affiliate Marketing is an awesome way to earn a living, however it takes time to build a following and a good reputation. If you go in expecting to make money over night, you will more than likely be very disappointed. I encourage you to think ‘long term’. Post informative and helpful content on your website and give people a reason to visit often. Be consistent and take action everyday. Market everyday, drive traffic to your website everyday. If something isn’t working, consider changing your strategy. Most people give up too early and claim something doesn’t work when it can work if you just give it a chance.
I have over 100 Wealthy Affiliate referrals, but unfortunately 80% of them have never even setup their account. Those are the people who like the idea of making money online, but do not take any initiative to more forward. Are you one of those people or are you serious about making money online?
Once you join Wealthy Affiliate, I encourage you to setup your account immediately or it will fall by the way side. Take action daily or you will never make a dime online.
If you decide to join Wealthy Affiliate, please know that I am here to help. I will not do the work for you so if you are looking for easy money, you need to consider something else. I am only willing to work with people who are serious, think long term and take a lot of initiative. Too many people want their hand held and do not take any initiative. Those people are a waste of time and will never succeed online with their current mentality. After trying to help numerous people who refuse to take my advice or take the initiative to learn, I want my expectations to be very clear.
